Deep Sea Misty In this drawing, I wanted to portray my character Misty as a deep sea cryptid. Inspired by submarine footage of giant squid, I wanted to emulate the hazy low resolution snapshot of the ocean floor. It required planning out the values for a low light environment, and I achieved the result by layering Multiply layers over different parts of the subject. I enjoyed trying to replicate this kind of lighting! |

Halloween Camping Trip In this drawing, I was inspired by my own recent camping trips. The main challenge I faced was the lighting. Initially, the primary colour would have been a cold dark blue, however I decided a striking red would work better for the spooky vibe. I enjoyed placing details all over the place like the contents of the tent and the annoying midges floating around. Additionally, I was inspired by the horror film Longlegs to insert a creepy devilish figure watching from a distance, although not subtle like the film, I wanted an undertone of unease in a seemingly relaxed atmosphere. |

Working from "Home" In this drawing I wanted to juxtapose a beach sunset with my character Maria wearily continuing to attend meetings for work. It was important to me to get the sky and background correct to make the setting as beautiful as possible, in contrast to the mess left behind in the foreground. I hope Maria signs off from work soon. |
